They shall call Jerusalem: Throne of Yahweh.
by Alejandro Roque Glez.
“Turn, O backsliding children, said
Yahweh; for I am married to you: and I will take you one of a city, and two of
a family, and I will bring you to Sion… At that time they shall call Jerusalem the throne of Yahweh ; and all the nations shall be
gathered to it, to the name of Yahweh, to Jerusalem: neither shall they walk
any more after the imagination of their evil heart… and you shall swear, The
Lord Yahweh lives, in truth, in judgment, and in righteousness; and the nations
shall bless themselves in him, and in him shall they glory.”
The most important and decisive fact
the prophets of God used to warn us about the coming of the End Times , as a
premise for the nations’ judgment and establishing the Kingdom
of God , is that it would begin once the modern state of Israel
was founded. Remember, these events were predicted by these men of God in the
time that Israel was plunged into chaos, or in exile, or as in the last stage
of a Diaspora that lasted almost 1900 years; it means they were prophesying
about something that neither the most credulous could imagine.
Other passages where the prophet
Jeremiah goes Millennia forward, outlining to us that from the holy city of
Jerusalem the earth should be ruled one given day, are: 17:25,
23:3-8, 30:7-9, 31:4-13 , 22-23, 31-34, 38-40, 32:37-41, 33:6-9, 14-16, 22;
50:4-5.
David (23:5 ), the righteous
branch (Is 9:6-7, 11:1-2 ), King (30:9 ), the final hope when he
asserts us that: “ In those days, and at that time, will
I cause the Branch of righteousness to grow up to David; and he shall execute
judgment and righteousness in the earth” (33:15 ). The new
branch and sapling born from the once king of Israel is here a real figure of
the Son of God, Jesus
Christ ; who, being a descendant of king David according to the
flesh, and since the days of Ruth through her genealogical tree (Mt 1:6, Lk
3:32 ), would be born of the virgin Mary, and conceived by the Holy
Spirit , coming into this world 600 years later from the prophet
Jeremiah tells us so, as indeed happened (Lk 2:10-11 ).
(What will life be on our planet once the Lord fulfills
the promise of his coming? If interested you can read it in the form of a
literary narrative, recreated in the author's book entitled: 'The King Victorino ').
