A New Temple in Jerusalem!

“In the visions of God brought he me into the land of Israel… and the man said to me, Son of man, behold with your eyes, and hear with your ears, and set your heart on all that I shall show you… declare all that you see… afterward he brought me to the temple… he brought me to the gate, even the gate that looks toward the east: And, behold, the glory of the God of Israel came from the way of the east: and his voice was like a noise of many waters: and the earth shined with his glory… and he said to me, Son of man, the place of my throne, and the place of the soles of my feet, where I will dwell in the middle of the children of Israel forever.”

(Ezekiel, chapters 40-48)

This is yet an unfulfilled prophecy.

The Temple of God will be rebuilt again as a center of world government from Jerusalem, where Jesus, the Son of God will establish his throne among the nations. The prophet Ezekiel tells us in 572 BC what would happen in the 7th millennium since Creation––in which we are now––and once the world see itself involved in the events of the End Times; very soon speaking of  today’s events.

First: we have to analyze other prophecies where he and other prophets announced about the Temple, House, or Sanctuary of God would be rebuild in this End of Times (37:26-28), and that the Lord not only will take from converted Jews and levites to minister in this future temple, but also foreigners; that is to say, Gentiles who would join the levitical priesthood as well Isaiah prophesied when he said: “Also the sons of the stranger, that join themselves to the Lord Yahweh, to serve him… and I will also take of them for priests and for Levites… Thus said Yahweh: The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: where is the house that you build to me?” (Is 56: 1-7, 66: 1, 21).

The Temple will be built in Jerusalem (Hag 2:7-9), the Holy Mountain of God forever (Is 60:13-14); Sought City (Is 62:10-12) and not forsaken. The last temple was torn in 70 AD, when the Roman army at the head of which was Titus––son of the Emperor Vespasian––burned and destroyed it totally (Dn 8:11-13); albeit should be rebuilt again before the Messiah Jesus Christ’s Advent, being purified (Dn 8:14, Am 9:11).

Second: we must understand that this temple here described by the prophet Ezekiel with mathematical details has never been built. Could not be that the prophet Ezekiel was referring here to the Temple built in 516 BC and rebuilt later by Herod to make it a wonder of the world? Herod remodeled it for forty-six years to the time of Jesus, embellishing it with marble and gold (Mt 23:17; 24:1, Jn 2:20). Would not it be possible to say that Ezekiel probably was referring only to the Temple when Cyrus the Persian authorized its reconstruction, at the time of the Jewish return from Babylonian captivity, led by the priest Ezra and leader Nehemiah, after completing the 70-year period exile?

In no way.

Notice that not only Ezekiel prophesied that a new Temple of God would be built, but he was clearly seeing it though a vision about the future to witness the coming of God’s Messiah (40:1-4, 43:2-7). This Temple is also a different one from the others; showing the angel all its exact dimensions and entrusting the prophet in writing it for posterity. No changes are allowed, because he saw it and that is why was able to leave an accurate description of what would be such future Temple.

Nor to be astonished about the fact that this Temple will be built soon, because according to Bible prophecy, the Antichrist: political and religious leader who will appear in the public arena in the last seven years of mankind as we know it, and governing at least the last three 3 ½ years before the Coming of Jesus Christ, will enter into this Temple and superbly self glorify himself against all those which worship the true God (Dn 11:36-37). He will go to Jerusalem and with his great diabolical arrogance of self aggrandizement, shall sit in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God, admired in ecstasy by this lost world, and falsely claiming to be the Messiah expected by the Jews (2 Thess 2:3-4) once they have ignored and belittled the true Messiah of God: Jesus Christ, the Redeemer of mankind.

Once completed the Millennial Kingdom, the Temple shall meet its goal of having reorganized the Hebrew nation around its nucleus, and served as a witness to the nations and new generations about the Sacred History and Plan devised by Yahweh God from the very Creation. It would not have any use for it no longer will exist, replaced by the heavenly Jerusalem (Rev 21:2, 22). Read notes on The Millenarian Kingdom in our book entitled: ‘Revelation of St. John. The angel did not leave without warning one more time the prophet Ezekiel to describe it all in detail for posterity and the generation responsible for building it––ours––pointing its location would be at the top of the Holy Mount (43:11-12); so that major changes will occur in the holy city one of these days, when we shall wake up one morning to find out it is a stained one with darkness and lament.

Foreigners united to the people of Israel will be accepted as naturals (46:22-23); seed which was sown in times when God made an everlasting covenant with the patriarch Abraham (Gn 17:12-13, 27), where both born at home and abroad––this time purchased by the blood of Jesus Christ––and symbolized then, were admitted into the people of God; and now to minister in his government composed of twelve administrative ministries (Mt 19:28).

Since then the holy city of Jerusalem will be called “Yahweh Shamma” meaning “Yahweh is there” (48:35).
