Bible prophecies and sex.

“For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.”

(Matthew 22:30)

Sex, as Sarah well said––the wife of patriarch Abraham––brings special delight and pleasure to humans (Gn 18:12), and is a marital union within this material world, which is an inseparable part of our body until as much does not arrive our departure time; it means, the physical death.

Similarly when a man and a woman love each other from their very heart, including respect and fidelity, that individual physical attraction together with characters which harmonize in a certain way, and often similar goals, then sex––birthing a family––is in the environment created by Yahweh, once God created Eve from Adam (in Eden), undoubtedly something constructive and creative. 

Those who sought to find occasion against the Lord wanted to ridicule him––in this passage in question––in order to belittle the promise of resurrection, and for that purpose they used a woman who had in the course of her life several husbands, asking: and whose wife would she be after occurs the resurrection? Christ did not deny that in the Kingdom of Heaven exists or not some sort of union, because where there is love, there is a need to socialize, share goals and expectations, as well as help each other, but the question was maliciously exposed with the intention to highlight the sexual aspect, not marriage as such.

In the course of the centuries that biblical quotation was interpreted in many ways. Sometimes a sect or institution used it to make angels from humans, when Jesus himself said “they are like angels,” not that we would be angels. God made man in his image and likeness, not to the angels. We are different in certain patterns of behavior and choice. It was unthinkable that a family who died in the Lord, once happened the resurrection, are going to be seen one another as outsiders, and their family love with years lived together in the private framework of their own experiences, would be deleted as useless, in the blink of an eye.

The character of God––who in turn loves his only Begotten Son––was not compatible with such an analysis; but even so they spread it as a fact. The converts among our families have remained inseparable to us, and will be for all eternity; and love does not cease or is transformed, but it grows and harmonizes with the infallible and eternal purpose of that beloved Creator who once decided to make us equally part of an upper family.

Those who shall take part in the First Resurrection (Rev 20:6), and who are the ones that have accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior––owner and master––until his Second Advent (and upcoming event in history, 1 Cor 15:51-54); never again will experience the carnal sex. Why?

Let’s say that sex is a mechanism created by God––with transient pleasure when compared to eternity––in order to ensure procreation and human population growth. Once the people of God in general, according to the ineffable and inscrutable wisdom of Abba Yahweh, reaches the amount predestined before the foundation of the world in his Divine Plan; then it would no longer have any reason. Dear reader, will you stop being happy because of it?

No way. The happiest time of a human––even if only in your mind––is during infancy and in childhood you do not know sex, as the Lord talks about here. Something similar happens to the elderly, happy, sharing their experiences and rejoicing in mutual companies; however, they are not sexually active. So when we do not understand why God sees things from a different perspective to ours, always enclosed in time and space, then we must remember that: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God has prepared for them that love him” (1 Cor 2:9).

Once happens the First Resurrection (Rev 20:4-6) and during the Lord’s Millennium, already discussed in other notes, sex and procreation will continue on the planet; for both: young people and growing children living in the time of his Second Coming, as those born during the Millennium. They will have a carnal life similar to now ours, in contrast to live in a world where love reigns, peace and justice of God, and a fertile land producing abundantly as in the days of Eden; thus––as the first settlers of the earth––they shall long-live multiplying themselves by millions and millions.
