The sons of the kingdom would be cast into outer darkness.

“And I say to you, That many shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven. But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”

(Matthew 8:11-12)

Firstly Jesus seriously shows to his followers that the Kingdom of God would be set up at the time established by Yahweh God. This means it is not ‘fairy tales stories,’ but compliance with the Creator’s Plan foretold by all the prophets, from generation to generation.

The Word of God is living, active and effective; not only enacts Justice, but the Road that lies ahead, and that is why the legislator of the Jewish people––as God’s spokesman––urged them to “therefore shall you lay up these my words in your heart and in your soul… and you shall teach them your children, speaking of them… and you shall write them on the door posts of your house… that your days may be multiplied, and the days of your children… as the days of heaven on the earth” (Dt 11:18-21).

As certainly Jesus Christ certified, Yahweh is not God of the dead but of the living (22:32); and that is why he opens here a small window into that announced Kingdom where the patriarchs Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob occupy a place of prominence. In the Book of Revelation it also speaks of the elders (Rev 4:4, 5:14), which are the twelve apostles and twelve patriarchs from the original tribes of Israel. If you believe that God takes his Word lightly, you must be making a big mistake. The God of love also foretells the Last Judgment and destination place for those who did not take and accepted him with sincerity and seriousness.

This is––like most of the Lord’s prophecies––directed towards the End of Time, when he comes in the glory of his Father, accompanied by his angels, paying to each according to their works (16:27).

Then many from the east, west, and all corners of the planet, which among the gentiles have joined the people of God through Jesus Christ and thus became Christians, they shall reign with the Son of God. However, many Jews, who supposedly are the people of God––and should be those who seek Him by heart––through the inheritance certified in the covenant made by the Creator with his servant Abraham and confirmed to his descendants (Gn 17:1-13, 19 , 21), will be “be cast out into outer darkness” (v.12). And how is it possible?

Not all Jews are saved, because God is no respecter of persons and cannot be bought (Dt 10:17). Why did Jesus––the Son––say in this passage of Matthews’ Gospel that these descendants of the patriarch Abraham will be hurled into Hades? Because even after getting the advantage of being born in the nation God had chosen to bring the Savior of mankind––a Jew––into this world; so they all have chosen to discard the only Begotten Son of God; crucifying and later ignoring him, without accepting him as the Messiah Redeemer and not showing sincere repentance for forgiveness of sins.

The fact that the crucifixion was a necessary atoning goal prophesied in the designed Plan established by the Creator to bring us victory over death (Heb 2:14-15), everlasting righteousness and redemption of the converted mankind, does not remove or justify any mortal sin of those who led the diabolical campaign against Jesus, and that is why he warns the Roman procurator Pilate: “You could have no power at all against me, except it were given you from above: therefore he that delivered me to you has the greater sin” (Jn 19:11).

Notice the reader that the greatest sin lies with those who handed him over to the Roman authorities (later part of the synagogue of Satan, Rev 3:9), who never weighed their reckless words when shouted: “His blood be on us, and on our children” (27:25). Involving not only the present, but for following generations, which they also ridicule Him, make jokes and reject the promised Messiah proclaimed Son of God.
