You will be hated by all because of my name.

“And the brother shall deliver up the brother to death, and the father the child: and the children shall rise up against their parents… And you shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake… and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. And a man’s foes shall be they of his own household.”

(Matthew 10:21-22, 35)

This is a prophecy that Christ once spoke about the year 32 AD, to the present day, has been fulfilled to the letter and it will increase as we approach the End Time.

We are sinners by nature. We fall and rise in our imperfections; nevertheless, one thing is when we have been part of that struggle for existence––in some cases subsistence––trying to walk down that rocky road which is not hidden from our view and actions, and the other is when deliberately we let ourselves sink into absurdity and passions of our beloved iniquities and abominations; lost in the pleasure of never being found.

In a non-Christian world by majority, which does not care to know anything about the living God; lost in these concupiscences, vices, immoralities, lies, betrayals and hypocrisies: it is impossible to feel at ease when––in the midst of those dark shadows––appears a light (5:14-16).

A Christian person who faces the world by just trying to become an exemplary factor that could move others into repentance, will be mocked––at least––while goes struggling to eradicate his/her own mistakes, sheltered by the Spirit of God and transforming stepwise (with highs and lows) in a new creature (2 Cor 5:17); while climbs the distinguished path to what represents the Lord Jesus in our lives.

For the ‘old humans’ (Eph 4:22) these ‘new creatures’ become their natural impudence; a kind of offense to be repressed and silenced before the Light prevails and then each have to look at our own broken spiritual mirrors. Becoming children of God through the work that represented the crucifixion and resurrection of the only Begotten Son of God: Jesus Christ is for them a ridiculous act worthy of being banished from their thoughts; albeit they are quick to give their entire lives to any dictator, politician, false and inanimate idolatries, or superstar celebrity appearing on the world stage. Such stupidity cannot easily be crowned with the knowledge of the Truth; and thus reach salvation.

In a world of darkness a light––even if small one––produces envy, persecution, and death under a legalistic impiety, as it has happened in the history of Christianity over the centuries, starting from the very departure of the Lord (Acts 1:9). That is why the Son of God prophesied: “And you shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake” (v.22).

This also causes family strife: a son, granddaughter, brother and relative, who as a Christian is taken from overnight by a fanatic, crazy and silly, and therefore despised and slandered by his/her own blood. His family would soon denigrate him first silently, and later in the public contest of daily misadventures. Anything new? No, because Jesus was maligned and scorned by his full brothers (Jn 7:5); thus suffering himself the misunderstanding of his own family.

This is a loveless world where we have all been victims of such coldness (24:12) in some vivid passage of our lives. Many families are divided, which is almost a miracle to find one where there has been not any divorce, an irreparable contest or fight, and any type of abuse or manipulated misunderstanding. Plenty of unjust means from respecters of persons handcuffed and influenced by the love of money and power it represents in this conglomerate sputum in ignorance.

World, how will justify yourself when going before the presence of the Creator? (Rev 6:8-17). And yet you accuse those which––trying to be dead in the flesh––they live inspirit and rejoice over the Good News of God’s only Begotten Verb? It is written: “Who shall lay anything to the charge of God’s elect? It is God that justifies. Who is he that comdemns? It is Christ that died, yes rather,that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us” (Rom 8:33-34).
