Down with Babylon!

by Alejandro Roque Glez.
Major Prophets of the Old Testament at Alejandro's Libros

Once the prophet Jeremiah warns about the approaching destruction of Jerusalem by the hands of the Chaldeans and forced captivity of seventy years which would subject the Jews (v.11-12), he goes back later and prophesy to the invaders that their day will also come years later––as surely happened––when Darius the Mede (Dn 5:28-31) conquered the city of Babylon in 538 BC, ending the Empire, and setting the Medo-Persian imperial coalition. The prophet is telling here what would happen 100 years into the future, counting from the time when pronouncing it.

How many cities today seem as Babylon, and all of them capitals like her? Read the author's book entitled: 'Revelation of Saint John. Interpretation of the Book;' along with the literary novel 'The Great Peacemaker from Hell,' which recreates in a narrative form the final events. Also you can look for the writings titled: 'The Prophet Ezekiel: Gog, Magog, and the Third World War'; next to 'Prophet Daniel: The Last Four Empires of Mankind'.

[These and other Old Testament prophecies are explicatively compiled in the author's book entitled: 'Major Prophets of the Old Testament;' in print and digital editions]
