The desired of all nations shall come.

“And I will shake all nations, and the desire of all nations shall come: and I will fill this house with glory… The glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former… and in this place will I give peace said the Lord of hosts.”

(Haggai 2:7-9)

The prophet Haggai exercised his ministry around the years 520-516 BC, coinciding with the prophet Zechariah. His name means ‘festive’ and contains in itself the great feast and weddings of God’s Lamb which he announced in the language of his time (Rev 19:7-9). In his day Darius Hystaspes reigned over the persian conglomerate and this man of God entrusted his countrymen to not forget about the kingdom of the Almighty promised through the centuries; and encouraging them to realize the now time to rebuild the Temple and Jewish national life with a remnant ready to reap the fruits of their faith.

When this man of God was writing already the Jewish people had begun the return from the first Babylonian captivity (536 BC). One of the priorities (Ezra 1:2) ordered by God through his prophets was the rebuilding of the Temple in Jerusalem, which was concluded in 516 BC. By that time (520-516 BC) and giving encouragement to the people about being integrated into the construction process, we find the prophet Haggai prophesying––by Holy Spirit––into the future End Times and ensuring that another “latter house [Temple]” (v.9) would be built in the same place, to which would enter the “Desired of all nations” (v.7). That is the Messiah Jesus Christ, who according to the Holy Scriptures will sit there on his Throne of glory and rule the nations (Mt 19:28), bringing with him righteousness; imparting justice and peace (v.9), during his Millenarian Kingdom.

This Temple completed in 516 BC, was later remodeled since times of the Edomite King Herod (20 BC), and centuries later––in 70 AD––was again destroyed by the Roman army; destruction that continues to this day, and of which we have today only the famous Wailing Wall, visited by orthodox Jews and citizens from various nations. In the former area of the ancient Temple, muslims built the Al-Aqsa Mosque and Dome of the Rock; listed according to them, as second in importance for Islam after the ‘Mecca;’ although it is not mentioned in the Koran (Quran) or writings that followed, showing that it was never considered an important or sacred site, but they now claim it in order to prevent the Jews on rebuilding their temple beginning from that Wall.

It seems that besides the bitter hatred against the Jews, one among the several reasons that feed the held idea on dreaming to finally wipe Israel off the face of the earth, will be the now close rebuilding of the Jewish Temple in that coveted property of Jerusalem. How is this possible? It has been ongoing talks about sharing the area between the three religions that encompass and impact more fervently their parishioners in this world: Judaism, Christianity and Islam; however,we believe that a local war accompanied by a tremor of the subsoil would soon create the objective and subjective causes for the Third Temple––prophesied by Ezekiel––to be built; since very close in the history of our generation we will see Jerusalem placed as a stumbling block of several armies (Zech 12:3).

This is the Temple that the book of Revelation reveals would predominate under the System 666 (Rev 13:18) and where the Antichrist will establish himself once his confidence wane among political consorts in the now resurfacing New Western Roman Empire. The European Union (EU) is in crisis––social and financial––near to suffering a territorial and administrative reorganization, and is at times like this where there is appearing a mysterious ‘savior.’ In this case a false peacemaker with big political ambitions and broadly characterized as an ego-maniac. Even when the “Desired of nations:” Jesus Christ visited the Temple during the time of his ministry––accompanied by his disciples and followers––the truth is that it was not seeing glory, as it is described here for the Temple; nor is in turn the second or “latter” as the prophet tells us;that is to say, the End Times. Jesus, the personified glory as the Begotten Song of the Holy Father walked the place, but not sitting on his Throne, instead convicting the religious people of his day and foretelling the imminent destruction of that same Temple; as ultimately happened a few years later.
