The Anointed Priest of God.

“I have given them to you, and to your sons and to your daughters with you, by a statute for ever… shall be yours… everything devoted… shall be yours… nevertheless the firstborn of man… you shall not redeem; they are holy: you shall sprinkle their blood on the altar… it is a covenant of salt for ever before Yahweh to you and to your seed with you.”

(Numbers 18:11-15, 17-19)

The priest of this ancient ritual represented the Son of God, Eternal Priest (Heb 7:17), and like Christ Jesus (1 Tim 2:5) symbolized a Mediator between God and men. This priest from the lineage of Levi was delivered all the gifts, offerings, and everything consecrated to God (v.14); equally to his sons and daughters with him.

Through this system of priestly rite God announces the revealed 1500 years later by Jesus Christ, the true priest of God whom Aaron represented here. The Lord clarified this when he said: “All things are delivered to me of my Father: and no man knows the Son, but the Father; neither knows any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him” (Mt 11:27, Jn 16:15); subjecting him all principality and power not only in this world but in the future: as head over the whole people of God (Eph 1:20-23); eternally made Pontiff (Priest) according to Melchizedek’s Order (Heb 6:20).

As we see on this passage in question, all the begotten firstborns (v.17) should be sanctified and their blood sprinkled on the altar. It also looked like the Lamb of God, Jesus Christ:

- Begotten of God (Ps 2:7, Heb 1:5).

- Made to God’s glory and the express image of His substance (Heb 1:2-3).

- Firstborn of God (Heb 1:6, Col 1:15).

The Son of God, symbolized in this ritual of sacrifice, came into this world by God the Father’s willingness to sacrifice and shed his blood––of firstborn––on the altar of the Cross to atone for our sins and give us eternal life (Jn 3:16).

God tells Aaron––the priest who represented the future priest of Yahweh, Christ––about all high offerings and holy things were also destined to his children (representing all the people and saints), as an everlasting salt covenant before God. This manifold wisdom of the Creator would one day be given to the future Church of God’s children, and those who do not just shall notify it to the earth’s inhabitants, but to other dimensional worlds, to principalities and powers in heavenly places (Eph 3:10-11); consequently arriving at a given day, now so close, to judge not only the world, but also the heavenly angels (1 Cor 6:2-3); becoming all this administrative apparatus in a new Kingdom of priests (1 Pet 2:9), with Christ, the Anointed One, at the head (Rev 20:6).
