The captives of Egypt and history.
by Alejandro Roque Glez.
Any student of world history and specifically the Middle East, if not
carried away by their passions and hatreds, it has before his eyes, when he
compares the existing manuscripts in human annals, more evidence about the
existence of the Jewish people than any other; and the same happens with the
historic––and Divine––personality of Jesus Christ.
The handwritten copies (not
originals) to confirm Caesar (100-44 BC ) as being true in the historical
record are dating back to 900 AD, and only exist ten copies of it, for a period
of more than a thousand years until today; that is, between the time the
character (person) lived to the most recent copy preserved, which are often
incomplete and contradictory. We also have Aristotle (384-322 BC ) as a
great thinker, and we believe without dissent that he existed in reality;
nevertheless, the five copies we retain of his writings date from 1100 AD, for
a lapse of 1400 years since its origin and death of the writer to the existing
copy, more or less. On the other side we have original ancient biblical
manuscripts as the Dead Sea Scrolls, more than 25,000 manuscripts of the New
Testament talking about Jesus (either pieces or full) dating––compared to the other
ancient historical works––only within the two hundred years and less since the
lifetime and ministry of Jesus and preserved copies of their writers; with
nearly two thousand years of existence, not to mention the other extra-biblical
writers (for and against) that have been mentioning and quoted portions of the
New Testament annals and probate records in regarding the accuracy and
historical impact of the Redeemer in the early course of the eventful history
of the Church: and to that they do not want to believe. Because deep down,
their malicious goal is to ignore the Son of God, and to take from mankind the
possibility of its Eternal Redemption.
