He will baptize you with His Spirit.

The Son of God promised us the coming of the Holy Spirit in his gigantic work of creating the Church of Jesus Christ, emphasizing that this work would not be emotional, but instructive, transforming our minds and spreading God’s Word into our hearts (Jn 16:2-13). We praise Yahweh God because he is worthy of praises and adoration, but not as a Christian or holy banner. True worshiping is a man born in piety, and faith is attained by hearing and meditating on the Word of God, for “whoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved” (Rom 10:13-17).

This has happened in the almost 2000 years passed. Humans who have accepted over the centuries Jesus as their Lord and Savior, have experienced a baptism in the Holy Spirit; that is, in the depth of their beings, the Spirit of God is manifested in their consciences, letting them see with assurance about their sins are forgiven, that this ‘old burden’ has been lifted off, and a regenerative process has begun with a new life––different from the previous one––has flourished, where we begin to see the world around us with another perspective by striving since then to walk toward God: praying, studying his Divine Word enclosed in the Holy Bible; and feeling the need to communicate that we now understand but certainly did not know before. This new life is a reflection of “if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new” (2 Cor 5:17).

Not that in order to have the Holy Spirit our demonstrations now must become highly emotional and public. Every human being has his own personality and character, as well as different cultures in which everyone was reared. The manifestation of Yahweh’s Spirit is not associated with simplicities or temporary euphoria, but real worshipers, mostly there where we are alone with God and we cannot pretend with external events––whether as a product of theatrical or sincere desire––and that is why the Lord warns us clearly that: “Therefore when you do your alms, do not sound a trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues… that your alms may be in secret… and when you pray, you shall not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men… but you, when you pray, enter into your closet, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father which is in secret; and your Father which sees in secret shall reward you openly” (Mt 6:2-7).
