I am the God of your father: Fear Not.

“And he said: I am God, the God of your father: fear not to go down into Egypt; for I will there make of you a great nation: I will go down with you into Egypt; and I will also surely bring you up again: and Joseph shall put his hand on your eyes.”

(Genesis 46:3-4)

This happened in the year 2238 of the Creation when Jacob (Israel) goes to the call of his son Joseph, who was the highest authority in the power behind Egypt’s Pharaoh (41:40-44). God foretells Jacob this prophecy which was fulfilled entirely.

Joseph, who underwent much suffering as well, was never acknowledged enough for his own family and siblings; as Jesus warned there was no prophet admired and taken seriously among his relatives and fellowmen––despite thus receiving many blessings Mt 10:41, 13:57––even less when Joseph, who in an apparent egomaniac exhibition, he foretells his brothers who were jealous of him (37:11), about a God given day when his family would bow down at his feet (37:5-10), showing an almost divine greatness that awaited him in the future, as eventually happened; from being a nobody to later become the soul, voice and executive arm of Egypt’s Pharaoh; not without first endure years of deceit, afflictions and even jail––probably taken at that time as a forgotten and cursed by God––which undoubtedly was this way the one prepared him for his career as a leader, forging his character and know-how experience.

The people of Israel grew in abundance until just over 200 years later and it was a concern for the Pharaoh in turn (Ex 1:9) who ruefully and with regret acknowledged that Israel was better organized, stronger and compact than the people of Egypt.

Thus happened and in the year 2453 since Creation––215 years after Jacob came into Egypt––it was fulfilled what God foretold by specifying that: “I will go down with you into Egypt; and I will also surely bring you up again.” On the night that Jewish people left Egypt they stripped the nation of much gold (Ex 3:22, 11:2); to those who had oppressed them hard for the last period of their stay in that territory (Ex 3:21-22, 12:33-36, 42).

Today many people cannot wait a promise for more than a few days or months. Please note dear reader, in this case, the promise lasted two hundred years to be fulfilled; it shows the omniscience of God and that existence is governed by eternal parameters and not merely between time and space as we humans believe.

About 70 people came into Egypt with the patriarch Jacob in the year 2238 since Creation (46:27), and got out on the night of April 2453 a population of over three million people laden with blessings and after witnessing unique and privileged miracles which God ran through the legislator and leader Moses, in order to stimulate the will of Pharaoh to peacefully authorize the entire Hebrew people leaving the land, and thus show the world that there is One God (Ex 9:16), Yahweh of hosts.

At the head of the tribes were six hundred thousand armed men (Ex 12:37; 13:18). Israel then returned in freedom and made an entire nation as God had promised more than two hundred years before (35:11, 48:21).

The geopolitical and missionary march of history began to walk with renewed energy, determination and impulses.
