Holy Branch: from everlasting to everlasting.
by Alejandro Roque Glez.
The Law of God is holy, and
therefore it gives us the knowledge of sin. You do not know that coveting and
adultery against a neighbor is a sin if it does not exist a law that says: “ Neither shall you desire your
neighbor’s wife [or husband], neither shall you covet your neighbor’s house,
his field, or his manservant, or his maidservant, his ox, or his ass, or
anything that is your neighbor’s” (Dt 5:21 ). The Law is the instrument––under
a world short of God’s glory––and mechanism which warns us in order to avoid
self-destruction, in the same way that you may not know that manipulation,
(either civic or political) and racism and injustices, attract curse if you are
unaware that: “ Cursed be he that makes the blind to
wander out of the way… Cursed be he that perverts the judgment of the stranger,
fatherless, and widow” (Dt 27:18-19 ). Finally, the law brought, so to
speak, sin and knowledge; and the need for a Savior who could
atone and redeem us forever.
Not that there was no sin. It existed, but the Law exposes it in order
to clearly warn that you should avoid it, as it is destructive. You do not know
a woman who has breast cancer until it is early detected through a medical
examination; and if it does not, the cancer itself revives becoming terminal,
killing the victim; albeit, if it is avoided because the medical law, using
knowledge, and have warned in time, therefore devising the most appropriate
response to heal the affected. The same goes for the sin: it destroys, kills,
and God devised a cure through his Son . And who is able, without self, to
give his only son for the sake of so many others, to death, and to a Cross? Are
you able to do that with your own sonny?
What happens is that men were
created and intended to live in happiness for eternity, like their Creator
God . There is a Plan and an
intelligence that governs the universe, physical and spiritual laws. Man was
created by Yahweh God and once
gave into sin death interposed in his way, avoiding first the ability to lead a
happy life with greater purpose; and then his physical body––destined for
eternity––gradually perishes product of that sin and degrades to death, leaving
your soul free and going back to the place of your first choice while dwelt in
the fleshly body. Well, Christ was transfigured (Mt 17:1-7 ) before his
apostles John and Peter, showing a portion of what would become the Kingdom
of God . Divinity first approached to them so these apostles
could understand that life is much more than what we think. Second, Christ is
transfigured manifesting them that the physical body can be immortal, and so
will be the day at the End of Time (1 Cor 15:47-54 ); and finally Yahweh
God speaks directly and tells them about
that in Jesus, his Son , was his
pleasure, and we should listen him carefully.
Simply put: He is the Redeemer of
mankind and the Gateway to
Heaven, and as he himself said: “ He that enters not by the door into
the sheepfold… the
same is a thief and a robber… I am the door of the sheep. All that ever came
before me are thieves and robbers” (Jn 10:1-14 ). Using today’s words, God is revealed
to the apostles at the time of the transfiguration, and in presenting his Son
as Savior and Redeemer , he is
telling to the world that neither Socrates, Julius Caesar, Nimrod, or the time
after Buddha or Muhammad, or whoever, are any kind of door to heaven nor
eternal truth. No––dear reader––do not be fooled. There is no philosopher,
national or international politician, local or global elite, who will bring you
back to happiness and eternity for which you were created and destined; but Christ
Jesus, the Redeemer announced by God the Father
and Creator of all.
(What will life be on our planet once the Lord fulfills
the promise of his coming? If interested you can read it in the form of a
literary narrative, recreated in the author's book entitled: 'The King Victorino ').
